Klondike Derby (FEB 9) aka Bethlehem Winter Carnival

The Klondike Derby is to make Scouts use their heads, to put their Scouting skills to work in the field, to demonstrate teamwork and Scout spirit, and to have fun outdoors on winter days.  This Years event we will be joined by two other local cub scout packs in the Bethlehem area!  It will be held at the Bethlehem Town Park Saturday February 9, 2019 at 10:00 am.  We will have sled races (if it snows), Tug-a-wars, other competitions and fun games!  All Scouts are to report to the warming hut for check in!  They will be serving hot chocolate!  Hope to see you there and please dress for the weather!  REMINDER  -  SCOUTS BRING YOUR HELMET for the sledding activity. 

HELP! We need a Pack TREASURER!

Treasurer - VOLUNTEER STILL NEEDED!  Help the pack committee and Cubmaster establish a sound financial program for the pack with a pack budget plan.  Maintain a bank account in the pack's name and arrange for all transactions to be signed by any two of the Cubmaster, pack committee chair, secretary, or treasurer.  Approve all budget expenditures.  Collect dues and deposit the money in the bank account.  Keep up-to-date financial records.  Periodically report on the pack's financial condition at the monthly pack leaders' meeting.  Provide petty cash needed by leaders.  Keep a record of expenditures.

PARENTS The Committee members and Den Leaders will be meeting at the Town Hall at 7 pm.  ALL PARENTS are always welcome to join us and sit in on the conversations and planning.  Half of our Leaders will be gone in another year and many positions will be open for new members. Pinewood Derby (MAR 10)

The pinewood derby is a racing event for Cub Scouts, with the help of parents, build their own cars from wood, usually from kits containing a block of pine, plastic wheels, and metal axels. The Scout is given a block of wood made of pine, four plastic wheels, and four nails. The finished car must use all nine pieces, must not exceed a certain weight (usually five ounces (150 grams) must not exceed a certain width (usually 2-3/4 inches (7 cm) and length (usually 7 inches (17.8 cm) and must fit on the track.  Blocks can be whittled with a hand knife, bandsaw, or dremel carving tool for major shaping. Decals can be bought at scout shops or hobby shops.
