We are Cub Scout Pack 258

Welcome to Cub Scout Pack 258.  Cub Scouting is a program for young boys designed to foster the development of good citizenship in tomorrow’s leaders.  Cub Scouts learn the value of helping others and giving back to the local community.

The Cub Scout program is part of the Boy Scout program and is specifically designed for boys in grades 1 – 5.  When your son joins Cub Scouts, you and he will find that most scouting activities occur within the context of a den, which is a group of 6-10 boys all in the same grade (likely many of your son’s friends from school and the community).

In addition to den activities, scouts participate in a monthly pack meeting and pack activities such as community service and conservation projects.  Pack activities also include the Pinewood Derby, Klondike Derby, Blue & Gold Breakfast and pack trip.  Recent pack trips have visited locations such as The Wild Walk in Tupper Lake, Battleship Cove, Mystic Seaport and Aquarium, Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame and the Bronx Zoo.

For Cub Scouts, the scouting year runs from early September to mid May (the same as the school year).  If you are interested in this exciting opportunity for your son, please click the “Contact Us” link on the home page.

Pack meetings are usually the first Thursday of the month (September through May) at 7:00 PM at the Nathaniel Adams Blanchard American Legion Post 1040 located at 16 West Poplar Drive, Delmar, NY 12054, across the street from the Elsmere Fire Department.  Please see the “Upcoming Events” window on the home page for details.
